Budget Accommodations in Tagaytay

In search for a very budget friendly accommodations in Tagaytay, I found these inns, hotels, apartelles, room for rent that are less than Php 1,500 per night.  All rates indicated are good for 2 pax.

Tagaytay Econo Inn
Location: perpendicular to Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road
Budget Room - Php 1,500 with breakfast

Location: along Tagaytay-Calamba Road (left side coming from Sta. Rosa), about 300 meters away from Picnic Grove

Most of my references are from travelbook website and in agoda.  There are a lot more accommodations listed on those sites and you can search depending on your budget.  Agoda is also helpful as it comes with reviews from latest travelers.  We ended up staying at Famous Inn.  Check out my review on this small hotel.

    we stayed sa 5r room for rent 1k for fan room di na kami naghanap dahil lahat ng hotel fullybooked. lesson learned dapat nakabook na bago pa pumunta dyan :)

    Famous inn will get you value for your money
    medyo malayo nga lang sa picnic groove.
    If you want sa labas ng picnic groove may nagiihaw dun si manang inasal may room for rent sila haggle nyo nalang starting nila 1k pero tsek nyo muna ung room na ino offer nila..peace awt

    ^to manila ba? di ko alam e. pero sa pagkakatanda ko, last trip ng mga jeep around tagaytay is 9pm, wala nang van sa terminal. tas parang wala na ring bus na bumabyahe.

    ^I think Tagaytay Econo Inn, Top Hotel, Overlook Inn, Viewpoint Inn and Restaurant and Little Falls Inn. These are on the right side of the road if coming from Sta. Rosa so Taal Volcano is better viewed here. You might also want to confirm these with google maps :)

    for me, prefer 5R than Famous Inn but my boyfriend prefers the latter than the former. you may check my review on famous inn. my review on 5R is currently in writing so watch out for it :)

      ^hi. parang i don't see any hotel/motel near rotonda na may sariling parking per room. though ang alam kong hotel na malapit sa rotonda is yung Overlook Inn.

      hi. along the highway, lalo na yung malalapit sa picnic grove, may makikita kang mga nag aalok ng taal trekking. i've tried way way back pa, siguro 2004 pa ata yun so i can't recall na kung pano ko napunta dun, hehe. it was pre-arranged na kasi ng mga kasama ko.

      We were in Tagaytay on the month of August too last year and we stayed in a non-aircon room. It was rainy that time so the weather was cool. Fan is sufficient to cool the room.

      Hi, the van terminal in Pasay will be the one closest to Makati. You just need to ride the MRT until Taft station then the van terminal going to Batangas is located beside Metropoint mall (small road or eskinita, you still need to walk to get there. its not located at the corner.)

      hi. i'm not sure kung ikaw rin si Anonymous 4:04pm sa itaas but anyway, i'll try to answer your question. syempre ang one famous destination is Taal Vista. from here, makikita mo ang magandang view ng Taal. Wingate Manor is also fairly new hotel and nice reviews from Tripadvisor, though nasa kabilang side sya (not the overlooking side) and if i remember it right, katabi lang nito ang Java Jazz Coffee. so medyo malapit 'to sa picnic grove. I've been hearing also Lee Boutique and One Tagaytay place so you might just want to google them for reviews.

      Hi Dandan, thanks for dropping by my blog. 5R, I believe, have various rooms available ideal for couples, family and barkadas. it has swimming pool with grilling area which can be great place to hang out after touring Tagaytay. It is accessible as it is along the highway. However, if you're planning to go to famous destinations such as Picnic Grove, it is not so near to 5R. You will still need to ride a jeep or drive using your own vehicle.

      with regards to accommodation, marami pong accommodation sa Tagaytay. yung mga nabanggit ko po above ay mga budget friendly :) Famous Inn yung isa sa pinakamalapit sa isa sa mga famous destination, Picnic Grove.

      HI DJ, Sky Ranch is near to Taal Vista. that's farther pa from Aguinaldo Highway. based on my list, Golder Rooms for rent, Villa Julia and The Roberts Inn are cheap accommodations along Aguinaldo Highway. You might want to contact them.

      Hi. I'm not sure if you were also the one I exchange messages with in Twitter but anyway, some of the accommodations I listed allows 12 hour stay. I think Famous Inn allows that.

      hi, yes po, may mga jeep naman na dumadaan along the highway, tapat ng 5R. if puno na, ang terminal ng jeep to get to the tourist spots ay nasa olivarez, malapit sa rotonda. you may read some of the details in my previous blog:

      hello. apologies for the late response. i've only tried Famous Inn and 5R. mas mura ang famous inn, pwede na rin yun pagtyagaan kung tulugan lang talaga. budget namin ng bf ko sa weekend trip to tagaytay around 3k, lahat2 na yun: transpo, food, konting tour and accommodation.

    Hi all! I need your help guys. uhm we are planning to go to Tagaytay this coming Sept 18. That's Wednesday. When I checked the sites, yung sa 5R and Famous Inn, they're just accepting Credit card which I do not have.

    Is there any light to pay cash na lang kapag andun na kami? Plan namin by 7-8am andun na po kami then late eve off to Manila. Since Wednesday is along weekdays. I think di gaano peak?

      hi. i paid cash sa both in famous inn and 5R. sa 5R nag walk in lang kami. sa famous inn may reservation kami pero wala namang advance payment. pag check out namin sa famous inn saka kami nagbayad. try to inquire ulit, di naman required ang cc as mode of payment.

      hi. the rates i've mentioned are good for overnight stay, not necessarily 24 hours. like sa 5R, check out time is at 12 noon. check in is around 2pm.

      meron po. try Keni Po and 5R. both have swimming pools. i'm not sure if 5R has family room but Keni Po has one. parang bahay pa nga yung sa Keni Po which can accommodate about 8 pax.

      i'm not familiar with hotel haven but upon checking google maps, this is after Taal Vista if you're coming from the Rotonda. if you plan to visit Picnic Grove, which is located on the other side of the Rotonda, it may take you 2 jeepney rides (in case you don't have your own car). i'm not sure lang kasi kung may pa-derechong jeep sa highway from your hotel to Picnic Grove. last time kasi parang wala. the jeep's end point was at the terminal in Olivarez then from there, may mga jeep na pa-byahe ng Picnic Grove. you can also check out Sky Ranch since katabi lang yun ng Taal Vista. you may check my post about it below.       Hi, sorry late reply. Yung caleruega church alam ko nasa kabilang side sya e. mga accommodation na nabanggit ko puro near picnic grove and olivarez/rotunda. but i think you can try to stay in chateau royale, though di ito super lapit sa caleruega church but within the same road/path.

    Hi. We're a dragon boat team that'll have an event in Tanauan, Batangas on Saturday. We intend to stay in Tagaytay, but the house I borrowed from a friend is suddenly unavailable. I'm now looking for a place where 45 people can stay at a very cheap price. We really did not have budget for accommodation since we're supposed to stay in Tagaytay for free. But we have P5000 available from our funds which we can use for the place where we'll be staying. I know that's too tight a budget, but I am desperately hoping we can find a place where we can stay with that very limited resources. Our general assembly's scheduled on Saturday night after our race so it's important for us to still stay together by then. Any place will do.

    Hope you could help me out on this. Thanks a lot.

      That's quite difficult since you are 45 pax with a very limited budget. I suggest you look for a house for rent. This is what I found in Sulit, though its capacity is only 22 pax.

      5R and Keni PO have a lot of accommodations available. You may want to check with them first if there are available rooms enough for your group of 25 pax especially its peak season.

      hello. i'm not sure sa rate ng transient houses pero etong mga post ko rito ay per night. for big groups, you can try Keni Po and/or 5R rooms. pwede mo rin siguro i-check yung mga link na nai-share ko sa isa sa mga nag comment dito recently. puro pang big groups yun.

      hello. advance happy anniversary :) sa mga lugar na nasakyan ko, pasay and alabang, isang van lang papunta ng tagaytay. yung sa pasay na van, pa-batangas yun e so pagdating ng tagaytay rotonda, bumaba na kami. then tricycle na lang if you want to go to picnic grove. sa alabang na van naman, pa-tagaytay talaga sya so pwede nila kayong ihatid hanggang picnic grove.

      yung accommodation na nabanggit ko, ang pinakamalapit sa picnic grove ay Famous Inn. yung Keni Po, 5R Room, Little Falls Inn at Java Jazz, mga 300 meters away pa to Picnic Grove. pwede siguro i-tricycle na lang papunta dun if dito kayo mag stay.

      Hi, anong araw nyo ba plan? Last year kasi wala rin kaming reservation, dun na lang kami naghanap. That was weekend of May. Fortunately may nahanap naman kami, yung sa 5R. Although di sya bed and breakfast. If you don't mind looking around for accommodations and kung may sasakyan naman kayo, I guess that's ok. Di naman na super peak season and marami talagang accommodations sa Tagaytay. Good luck!

    Hi! Nagpaplano kasi kami ng bf ko na mag overnight stay sa tagaytay. First time pa lang namin kaya we're cluless pa, hehe. Naghahanap kami ng affordable na mapagsstayan. Naisip sana namin is 5r o famous inn kaso parang panget yung mga review dun. -__- nagbasa basa ako ng info about sa roberts inn at mukang ok naman siya, kaso wala ako makitang room rates nila e. 750 lang ba talaga yung standard room dun? Ang pinagpipilian namin is yun 5r, famous o kaya roberts. Any suggestion? Thank you! :)

      I'm not really familiar with Tagaytay Ridge Tour pero I read na included ang People's Park in the Sky sa tour. Nasa dulo na po kasi yun. Most of the inns I've posted here are near in Picnic Grove. Ang People's Park in the Sky medyo malayo-layo pa from Picnic Grove. You may stay at Famous Inn or Top Hotel as these are quite near to Picnic Grove.

      hello, thanks for considering my blog in looking for accommodations. unfortunately, mga nabanggit kong accommodations is located "on the other side" of sky ranch. mostly puro malalapit ang mga nabanggit ko sa picnic grove. if may sasakyan naman kayo, you can choose to stay in the budget accommodations I've mentioned then drive na lang kayo papuntang sky ranch.

      hello. ang overlook inn nasa rotonda mismo, so medyo malayo-layo pa sya sa picnic grove. and yes, based on their name, i think kita naman ang view ng taal sa overlook inn. malapit din kasi ang overlook inn sa bag of beans. sa bag of beans pa lang kita na taal.

      hi jeffrey! haven't been to top hotel, but between famous inn and 5R, mas preferred ko ang 5R. when you say 2-day, is that overnight? kami kasi overnight lang and nasa 3k lang din mga nagastos namin (for 2). yes, marami naman jeep sa main road (tagaytay-nasugbu and tagaytay-calamba road) pero until 9pm lang ang jeep. may mga tricycle din naman kaso di ako sure kung mas mahaba ang oras nito kesa sa jeep.

      i think the pink sisters is along aguinaldo highway. so you can check accommodations I mentioned near aguinaldo highway :)

      van terminal in alabang is located along south super highway, second stop light, i think (yung lampas pa ng sogo hotel pero nasa kabilang side sya ng sogo hotel - so if ur coming from makati, nasa right side yung terminal)

      yes, karamihan ng mga nabanggit kong accommodations are along the road, particularly along tagaytay-calamba road. medyo madali lang mahanap 5R, katabi lang sya ng Keni Po. mas malaki ata ang signage ng Keni Po.

      hi, sorry late response but i hope you were able to find a hotel by just walking in. just to answer your question, yes, ok lang kung walk in, ganun ginawa namin sa 5R. and yes, tabi tabi naman usually mga hotels/accommodations dun. and at this time, di naman masyadong peak season unless its a holiday or may special event. minsan lang kasi baka maubos oras nyo sa paghahanap ng accommodation.

      hello po. sa accommodation, depende po kung ilang kayo. kung 2 lang naman, yung mga nabanggit ko po pwede nyong i-contact to reserve, depending on your budget. may ibang accommodation na nabanggit ko na may pool so depende kung gusto nyo may pool. recommended ang Keni Po based sa mga nababasa ko. ok din, for me ang 5R. yung java jazz naman di ko pa na-try pero maganda kasi ambiance ng restaurant nila, very relaxing. so pwedeng bago kayo matulog or pagkagising, dun s restaurant na rin nila kayo kumain.

      for itinerary, di ko pa super familiar lahat ng must see sa Tagaytay but the famous tourist spots are picnic grove, people's park in the sky, sky ranch, pink sisters, tierra de maria, paradizoo, sonya's garden, and of course mga food trips (particularly cheap bulalo in mahogany). you may want to check with tripadvisor for other must see places in tagaytay.

I'll try to answer your inquiry in the best that I can. kami ng boyfriend ko, around 3k po nagastos namin lahat lahat (food, transpo, accommodation) for 1day/overnight. depende po kasi kung saan kayo mag stay. kung sa 5R po. lets say 1.5k per night, bali 3k na agad for 2 nights. then kung mag picnic grove kayo, wala naman pong entrance pero yung mga rides/activities may bayad. for your food, siguro kasya na ang 100 per head but since kids mo naman kasama mo, depends on their age, baka mas mababa pa ang per head nila sa food. by the way, di kasama breakfast sa 5R so you will need to budget 3 meals per day sa inyong mag iina. bali kung sa 5R po kayo mag stay (or in any hotel/accommodation), di nyo na po kailangan mag out then in ulit. basta po sabihin nyo na lang na 2 nights kayo then pang 2 nights na yung babayaran nyo. mag check in kayo on the 1st day then check out on the last day na.

      as for the transportation, i found this site helpful and updated. lahat kasi ng bus going to Tagaytay nasa Coastal Mall na. check the site na lang nandyan na rin pati fare: http://www.backpackingphilippines.com/2009/03/how-to-get-to-tagaytay-bus-commute.html

      with regards to pasyalan, marami naman mapupuntahan sa tagaytay that your kids can enjoy. problem lang is the proximity since di naman lahat ng attractions ay dikit dikit. safe naman dun pero wag na lang po siguro kayo magpagabi kasi medyo madilim at hindi lahat may poste ng ilaw sa kalye. you may also check this site for the tourist attractions:

    Hi, saan exact market loacated yung low fare van? kasi when we went sa tagaytay we followed your instructions here but we ended up sa starmall na terminal and nasa 180 sya dahil papuntang lemery batangas we have no choice but to ride that van, pero nung pauwi na kami we rode a van 75 pesos sa terminal ng jeep sa tagaytay, pero ung dropoff sa alabang sa harap lang ng festival mall kaya hindi din namin nakita ung terminal, so until now iniisip ko pa din saan kaya ung terminal na un.       Hello. I'm sorry to hear na medyo naligaw po kayo because di ganun ka-detailed instructions ko. Yung van po na sinakyan namin, hindi sya sa star mall, sa tapat pa po (other side of the road). Nung sumakay kasi kami ng jeep from Bicutan, after Alabang exit, bumaba na kami. Then we ask around about van/bus papuntang Tagaytay. Pinalakad pa kami further (still along the highway and sa ilalim ng tulay). I can't recall lang kung pang ilang stop light but I think it was 2 blocks pa. Then nakita na po namin yung terminal. Biyaheng Tagaytay yung van na sinakyan namin.

      Yun po bang van nyo from Tagaytay to Manila, yun po ba yung sa terminal ng jeep na byaheng within Tagaytay (picnic grove, etc) which I mentioned in my blog post? Mga what time po kayo sumakay dun, for my readers additional info na rin :)

      Hello! Glad to be of help :) The accommodations are listed are mostly on the other side of Tagaytay, left side if coming from Aguindaldo Highway to Tagaytay Rotonda. Nasa kabilang side po ang Sky Ranch (papuntang Nasugbu). Pero ang medyo malapit na na accommodation is Overlook Inn. Malapit lang ito sa Tagaytay Rotonda (besides Bag of Beans and Rowena's). Di pa kasi ako nakakapag-scout ng mga budget accommodations na malapit sa Sky Ranch.. I hope this helps :)

      hey guys. been to tagaytay haven and its very clean. it also has a jollibee out front and a bulaluhan sa left. its near bag of beans din. id recommend this kasi tahimik and fresh ang rooms.

    yung sa d zone backpackers inn lagi silang may promo. since palamig na ang season, a group of four can get a room with 2 bunk beds for 1200. fan room sya pero ok nayun if youre just going to stay the night and aalis din kinabukasan nang maaga.

    Hi. Are the accommodations you mentioned near picnic grove, sky ranch with view of taal? My family (2 adults with 2 kids) will be visiting the Philippines for the first time and they want to see the beauty of green nature and enjoy view of taal.
