Weekend Sale at Glorietta and Greenbelt

It's payday weekend! And yes, it is also weekend sale to most merchants of Glorietta and Greenbelt malls.  Yesterday was also the first day of the Annual Greenbelt Sale which will last until July 14.  The month of July also marks the end of season by most of the imported brands like Mango, Topshop, Zara, etc.  Glorietta 5 also opened its new store, Uniqlo, yesterday so they offer discounts on all of their items which will run until tomorrow only.

I was able to grab great sale finds from the stores above.  I'm glad that Bershka and Stradivarius are now on sale.  I really want to try their clothes if its worth it.  The most discount I got was from Topshop, a jeans that is at 80% off!

So if you're looking for a bargain and great sale finds, this is the right time. Head over to Glorietta and Greenbelt and check out your favorite brands.  I think most are on sale, whether local or international brands.

My Sale Find: Bayo

For the past months, Bayo has been holding their sale which were really great finds.  I was able to buy a very nice blazer for 50% off last year (November).  Their sale continued up to January this year.  This time, its their end of season sale which will last until January 31.

I'm not really a big fan of Bayo but I do check them out from time to time, most especially when they have a sale.  I remember buying a good pants from their sale for just Php 350, which was about 70% off from the original price.

From their end of season sale, there's not much items on sale especially at their relocated store in the new Glorietta mall.  The items were mostly the same as those items on sale last November.  But nevertheless, I kept on coming back even if I wasn't able to buy anything.  But yesterday, I was so lucky to grab a great find from the same store and branch.  I was really looking for a denim jacket because I saw one look from some site that it looks good when paired with a dress.  An instant semi-casual get up!  This is what I found.

This washed demin jacket is cropped in style with a little feminine touch at the bottom of the sleeves.  It has an extra eyelet fabric in cream color which somehow tone down the ragged look of this jacket.  It was the only denim jacket I saw from the sale rack and luckily it was size small.  The original price was at Php 1,995.  I asked the sales lady if it is part of the sale since there's no 50% off sticker on its tag unlike all other items on the sale rack.  She told me that its 50% off.  Well, I will be paying about Php 1,000 then.  Quite a bargain considering its a denim, although I had a little hesitation since I wouldn't want to spend a thousand for just one item.  Heck, I still went to the cashier and bought this jacket.  To my surprise, it appeared in cashier's computer that it is only Php 250!  A real great find!  Even the cashier told me that it was really a bargain.  That was almost 90% off!  I think I would never find a denim jacket at this price! I'm so happy I bought it even if I have hesitations at first.

Visit Bayo's end of season sale which is on going until January 31, 2013.  I might also find a real bargain and be a lucky shopper like me who grabbed an item at almost 90% off.  Happy shopping!

My 2012: A Review On The Year That Was

Looking back to the year 2012, I can say it was fulfilling and exciting than the year 2011.  But if I categorized each event of my life, there are pros and cons to the year 2012 as compared to my 2011.


Beach Trips
Since I love the beach, I see to it that I get to visit at least one beach per year.  But that's too little.  It is seldom that I only get to the beach once per year.  The most beach trip I had was I think year 2010.  That's where I get to visit Ilocos, Coron, Puerto Princesa, Davao and Camarines Norte (Calaguas Island) for the first time.  For 2011, I get to visit the beaches in Quezon (Dampalitan Beach, Borawan; unfinished blog) and Zambales (Magalawa Island) plus I get to trek again in Mt. Romelo where we visited the Buruwisan Falls.  It was also the same year where I traveled solo in Davao, mostly work related but I get to visit some parks and malls.  Last year, I only visited two new beaches: in Bolinao, Pangasinan and in Lobo, Batangas.  The rest of my beach trips were just revisits.  I get to visit Davao again on my own, this time I stayed longer and had a relaxing vacation (unfinished blog).  It was unusual for me to visit a beach twice in a year.  Last year, I get to visit Anvaya Cove in Bataan, Samal Island in Davao and Boracay Island twice.

Other Travels
2011 was when I first get to travel outside of the Philippines.  I get to visit Taiwan and Hong Kong for the first time.  Last year, I revisited Hong Kong with my family and also get a side trip to Macau (unfinished blog).  But it was the same year when I traveled almost every month, whether it be like a 2-hour drive away from Manila or a 2-hour air travel from Manila.

This 2013, I hope to visit Singapore or Thailand.  I plan to have at least one international trip per year.  For the beach trip, I'm hoping to visit El Nido, Surigao and revisit Calaguas Island and Cebu beaches.

Work
I was promoted in 2011.  The same year, work loads were a lot compared to 2012 since I was still part of the event committee for our group where we organized team building, christmas party and vendor's night.  In 2012, my work were more challenging and I get to travel out of town (Subic and Davao) because of my work.  Since our company is continuously growing, I'm expecting more work loads this 2013.  I'm hoping that I'll continue to do better and excel even more in my line of work.

Family
There's no other wonderful time spent than with your family.  2012 was such a blessing to my family since we get to be complete during the holidays.  It was the first time my brother spent Christmas and New Year with us after 6 years.  Although his job gave him at least 2 months vacation in the Philippines, there's always a slim chance for him in spending Christmas holidays in the Philippines.  Last 2011, my sister gets to stay here in the Philippines for good.  But my other sister then got a job opportunity to work abroad in year 2010 so she wasn't able to join us during 2011 Christmas season.  Thus, our family were incomplete then.  Last year, my other sister resigned from her work abroad and decided to stay here instead.  She came back last November while my brother came home last October.

Love
In 2011, I can say that I'm not 100% ready to commit yet.  Although I'm dating, I haven't found someone whom I think will be my match.  But last year, I found him.  That time, I know I'm ready for commitment.  We've been together now for 7 months.  Hopefully our relationship will last.  Because of this, I'm happier now on the matters of the heart than last 2011.

Friends
Last 2011, one of my best friends went to California and stayed there for good.  Good thing, we're still keeping in touch.  The same year, a few of my friends got married.  In 2012, additional friends got married.  And those friends who got married in 2011 already become parents.  I had additional 2 goddaughters last year.  Funny thing is that both have the same birthdays! So I don't know how I'll split by body to attend their birthdays in case both celebrated it at the same date.

In the year 2012, I also get to meet more new friends.  I tried to acquaint with few bloggers but I haven't meet them personally.  Other new friends were mainly my boyfriend's friends.  I get to meet and bond with them thrice last year.    

Health, Beauty and Fashioin
Just like in the previous years, I'm still the same shopaholic!  But last year, I get to spend mostly on sale items.  With that, I get to save more in 2012 than in 2011.  In terms of my health, luckily I don't have that much sickness in 2012 than in 2011.  I also tried eating healthy last year but I know I wasn't really successful on that.  In terms of beauty, I noticed that I seldom apply make up and buy make up products in 2012 as compared to 2011.  Maybe because I tend to focus on eliminating pimples last year, which I believe was somehow successful. 

This 2013, I'm hoping to eat more healthy foods, exercise regularly (meaning going back to the gym to eliminate fats on my tummy!) and keep my skin healthy and pimple free.

Passion
I'm passionate about writing.  I started blogging last 2011.  I've got a total of 65 blogs for the year 2011 while only 45 total blogs for the  year 2012.  I admit that I seldom write blogs last year.  My average was just 1 blog per month.  I become busy most especially when I already have a love life *teehee*  My free time was spent with him since we only get to see on weekends.  Also, my writing jobs were less last year than in year 2011.  I no longer get to apply for writing jobs last year.  I'm hoping that this year, I still continue writing and updating my blog.  Most especially when I know that my blog can somehow help people get tips and information.  I hope I can write anything blog-worthy at least 1 every week or 2-3 blogs per month. 

Overall, I'm still happy and content with my 2012 even if some events were better in 2011 than in 2012.  Just like in the previous years, I'm grateful for a wonderful 2012, most especially my family is complete and I had a love of my life.  Life is more meaningful if spent with people you love.  Those were great blessings I've received which were abundant and beyond happiness.  I hope it will still be the same for 2013 or even better.

Shopping at Divisoria

Divisoria is one area in Manila that is know for finding cheap finds of all (as in ALL) items you need.  There are clothes, shoes, accessories, home decor, kitchen tools, hardware items, christmas decor, costumes, school and office supplies and many others.  It is like a night market similar to those abroad (like in Hong Kong) where vendors are scattered on the streets.  However, here in the Philippines, the vendors are already selling as early as 10 in the morning.  The area is becoming a modern shopping destination with buildings surrounding it such as Tutuban Mall, 168 Mall, 11/88 Mall and the newest one, Lucky Chinatown Mall.  The latter, however, caters for a more high class shopping destination with cinemas in it.

It isn't my first time to go to Divisoria but it is my first time to go on shopping for clothes and gift items.  Last year, I went to Divisioria to shop for Christmas decors.  I spent only Php 1,500 including an 6ft (or 7ft) christmas tree, ribbons, ball decors, lights and an angel.  Really really cheap.  This time, I really don't have particular items on mind that I wanted to buy.  I just wanted to check out the stores and maybe have some idea on what gifts to give.  And look on what I have bought.  All these for just Php 1,000.  That's 9 items so it could only cost probably Php 115 each!

2 tone suede flats

Well, I wasn't able to buy any gifts since I bought a lot of clothes for me and my boyfriend.  The clothes I bought were timely for our upcoming Boracay trip. 

I especially love the maxi dress.  It even has a tag brand Forever 21 with side ribbon tag inside (used to hang on hangers.  I don't know what it is called :D).  I compared the ribbon tag to my authentic Forever 21 clothes and the print is just the same! I wonder if this was authentic.  Well there are a lot of branded clothes at Divisoria which I doubt to be authentic (just like my boyfriend's shorts/boardshorts with brands Nike and Billabong while his muscle shirt, Polo by Ralph Lauren).  What's best, its only Php 150!  Where can you find a maxi dress that only cost Php 150!

I also like my crochet shorts.  Just recently, I saw the same type of shorts being sold online.  It cost about Php 450 but I bought mine at only Php 200.

The ballet flats is also a good find.  It only cost Php 300.  MNJ is a Korean brand according to my friend and it has imitations as well in Divisoria but this one, according to her, is authentic.  Since I'm not so branded/designer person, I don't mind having this brand for cute flats.  The 2-tone feature got my attention and I had difficulty in choosing color combination!  There are violet and pink, blue and pink, gray and black, and many more.

Divisoria is really a shopping haven for budget conscious person like me.  There are other stuff I wanted to buy but there's no more time and budget! haha.  Most of these were bought in 168 mall.  My friend told me that it is cheaper outside the malls.  Well for me, it is already cheap inside the mall.  I wonder how many more items I can buy for just Php 1,000.

Midnight Madness at the Glorietta

The opening of new Glorietta was just perfect for Glorietta's Midnight Madness.  Meaning there will be more stores to choose from.  The New Glorietta opened last November 5 with some stores and restaurants from Glorietta 5 and Park Square added to this new section.  Weeks after, Glorietta held its Midnight Madness which is still ongoing until today.  The Midnight Madness started last November 14 and it will end today.

There were lots of great finds in this midnight madness.  As what I have previously blogged about Toms Shoes, I also get to check out great finds in Kamiseta, Bayo, Toys 'R' Us, Lacoste, Cinderella, The Ramp Crossings, Terranova, and many others.  All items in Kamiseta are on sale from 50% to 70% off.  There are even blouses and jeans that are priced for only Php 200!  Bayo also provides good sale finds with 30% to 50% off on some of their items.  There are a few items which are priced at Php 250 only.  Toys 'R' Us have 10% on all of their items.  There's also a free gift wrapping service when you reached Php 300 worth of items.  This is a great place to shop for kids' toys as Christmas Gifts.  My favorite store, The Ramp Crossings, also have good finds.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to buy any.  But again, the brands The Ramp, Possibility, Faith Hope and Love have bargain clothes for as low as Php 300.  All of the items (or should I say shoes) from Lacoste are on sale, even their new arrivals.  Discounts ranges from 10% to 60% off.  My other favorite store, Mango, didn't participate in the sale.  I guess it is because they held their own sale season.  Same with Zara.

Another attraction to bargain hunters on this sale is their mini bazaar located at the activity center.  Just like in any other bazaars, you will find items for as low as Php 50.  There's even an Ukay Ukay at the stage area.  

This season's midnight madness were not as jammed pack as their previous years' sale.  The only time I saw a lot of people was last Friday.  Yesterday, at 10pm, there seem to be a very few shoppers already.

You still have a few hours left to do your shopping at Glorietta's Midnight Madness.  In case you are far from Makati, Alabang Town Center is also having their sale as well as the Trinoma Mall.  So whether you're in the north or in the south, you can enjoy Ayala Malls' sale.  In case you are an SM loyal shopper, SM Makati is also having their payday sale which also ends today.

My Sale Finds: Forever 21

I didn't know that Forever 21 was having a sale in their branch in SM Makati. What I heard before was they have a sale in SM North Edsa branch. That's too far from me.

When my officemate came back to the office after lunch last Friday, she had bags of Forever 21. I teased her that she has gone shopping even if its not payday yet. She was very excited to inform me that Forever 21 gives additional discount on their sale items. She was able to buy shorts for just 150 pesos! Great buy! I should check that out!

I was able to visit Forever 21 in SM Makati yesterday. There are quite a few racks with sale items on it ranging from 200 to 400 pesos. There are also racks with less 20% on the regular items and racks with 500 pesos and below. I was able to find only 2 pieces of shorts that is only 300 pesos. I believe these are the ones that has further 50% off discounts. There are still available sizes and still a lot of styles to choose from. You just need to check all the racks including those returned from the fitting rooms.

5 items for a total of about Php 1,000 only!

I fitted about 9 clothes but retained only 5 pieces. Calculating them, it will cost me more than 2,000 pesos. I had some hesitations at first as it is very expensive already but still i brought them at the counter. To my surprise, all of the items were at an additional 50% off! Yahoo!!! Sale on sale items!

I'm not sure until when is the sale but i hope its extended until payday next week! So go visit Forever 21 in SM Makati! You still have a few hours left! (In case the sale is only up to today)

SM Megamall's 3-Day Sale

I am not always looking forward to SM Megamall's Sale because I know it will be jammed pack.  Even if the mall is not on sale, there's always a lot of people there.  But this time, I got this urge to check out their 3-day sale specifically visiting Forever 21 store.  Well, I'm glad I did! I've got pretty good finds from Forever 21 and Melissa Shoes! Below are some of the items I bought.

50% off on each item

I was so happy with the swimwear I bought from Forever 21.  Even if summer is still far away, as a beach lover, I know I will get to wear these at any season.  And fortunately, I have an upcoming beach trip this November.  I'm not so into printed swimwear but I still grab this pair because its cheap!  Good thing I found a pair for these.  Each costs Php 309 from the original price of Php 620 each.  So basically this pair is only Php 618! Way cheaper than those sold in Landmark and SM!

I especially love the blue bikini bottom because its just Php 99!  Besides, blue is my favorite color!  It's just unfortunate that I can't find a bikini top to pair with it.  I did find some but the size is large.  But it doesn't matter.  I can just mix and match this bottom to my existing bikini tops.

You can fit these swimwear at Forever 21 before buying so good thing I know my size is always small.  I also bought a skirt (with belt) and a dress (great for the beach! haha!) for just less than Php 500 each.  Great buys!
 

Melissa Ultragirl + Gareth Pugh shoes

I never had any Melissa shoes but I have loved a few of its collections like the Campana and Ultragirl.  I'm just having difficulty in buying them because I'm seeing a lot of fakes and similar items sold in side streets.  I want most of my shoes to be somehow unique.  So when I saw the Melissa shoes "booth" along the bridgeway of SM Megamall, I didn't hesitate to check them out.  I tried a lot of shoes and sandals and everything was at 20%-40% off!  I almost hoarded a lot of their flats and sandals which only costs Php 1,000!  Anyway, my eye caught this Melissa Ultragirl + Gareth Pugh shoes.  I wanted the red and white combination but my feet looks darker when I tried it on.  So I opted for teh safer color, black and white.  It's not really my favorite but it looks good on my feet.  Plus its so comfy!  I'm just not sure if I can wear this with my office attire.  Anyway, this pair of flats originally costs Php 3,250 but I bought it for only Php 1,900, that's more than 40% off!

There are other good finds I saw like in Unarosa with up to 70% off, Kipling bags and wallet at 40%-50% off, Esprit at up to 50% off, Giordano at up to 70% off, Guess bags and wallets at 50% off and many more!  My other favorite brand, Mango, also have sale items but only on some of their bags.

The 3-day sale ends today.  So you still have a few hours left to shop.  SM Megamall closes today at 11pm.

My Sale Finds @ Mango

Mango has been one of my favorite shops.  I always check them out especially if they are on sale.  I think Mango's sale started 2nd week of June.  During that time, I checked both branches in Ayala Malls, Greenbelt and Glorietta.  There are more lovely dresses (and new styles) in Greenbelt than in Glorietta.  There were 2 dresses that I like (less thank 1k each) but I didn't buy them since I also wanted to check Glorietta branch before I decide to buy.  Unfortunately, when I returned to Greenbelt branch, the dresses were already sold.  The only item I bought at that time was their wallet which cost me about 900.

I like this wallet so much since I improvised its main function.  I added a strap on its zipper to make it a wristlet.  Since it is spacious, I decided to put in my cellphones in the 2 compartments.  This gets so handy that I no longer need to bring 2 items: a wallet and a small pouches for cellphones every time I go out on a very short trip.

I went back to Mango today thinking that they will further reduce their price.  Besides, I've been hearing other brands such as Zara, Promod, etc. are having their (end of season?) sale.  And I know for a fact, that its always in July where most of these brands held their sale.  So I was correct, Mango indeed reduced their price.  Their window display says: up to 70% off from their previous sale of 50%.  So here are the clothes I bought.


Straight cut pants.  I never fail to buy pants in Mango during sale. Most of the pants/jeans I bought cost less than Php 1,000. So this one I bought is much cheaper. Original price: Php 1,450. Sale price: Php 795. Further reduced price: Php 695. That's more than 50% off!

Sleeveless blouse. This is a very simple sleeveless blouse, available in white and peach color. I almost bought those two available colors! Original price: Php 1,450. Sale price: Php 695. Further reduced price: Php 395.  That's more than 70% off!

Short sleeves polo. I haven't bought any polo from Mango before because I find it still expensive even if its on sale. This time, I grabbed this polo for a very affordable price! What I love about this is that the sleeves have an adjustable arm hole which is perfect for my thin arms. Original price: Php 1,950. Sale price: Php 995. Further reduced price: Php 595.  That's 70% off!

Their shorts and mini skirts were also on a further reduced price sale.  I'm thinking of going back to check on these.

My Sale Finds @ The Ramp Crossings

I bought these clothes last June 17.  So I'm not sure if this store is still on sale.  Anyway, these are what I've bought on sale.

Shorts
These shorts are somewhat skorts, shorts that looked like a skirt.  I've been looking for a soft fabric shorts and I think this is really a sale find.  Most shorts of this type cost Php 500 and up but I got these for just Php 330 each from an original price of Php 1,100.  That's 70% savings!

Sleeveless blouse
This may look like an ordinary blouse but I like it because its short in front and long at the back.  I can pair it with high waist shorts or pants.  Also, the button closure is quite unique with its square-look design, not just an ordinary button down blouse.  I'm also thinking of wearing short necklace with it if I close the button up to the neckline.  I bought this at Php 375 from the original price of Php 1,250.  Another 70% savings!

Round neck shirt
I'll just add this simple black round neck shirt I bought from Esprit.  Simple but can be elegant with its silver trimmings in the neckline.  The neckline cut is quite low which makes it a little more than just a casual look.  I bought this to pair with my jackets, cardigans and blazers that is good for office wear.  I find this a great steal with just Php 599 from an original price of Php 1,498.  Almost 60% savings!

How Inconsiderate I Can Be?

Following up my post on Ups and Downs of Being an Online Seller, I just had to rant about this negative feedback I have received from ebay.  I am not a frequent seller as I only sell stuff when I needed to.  I can't recall why I post that blog before but maybe because of the same buyer I have encountered in ebay.  She left me a negative feedback last December which I just read now.

She claimed that I was an inconsiderate seller, the first she encountered.  I don't wanna post details and explain further my side but is waiting for payment for almost two months mean inconsiderate?  Is texting for following up payment mean inconsiderate?  Yes, I do understand her personal reasons for delaying the payment, that's why I waited.  Still she called me inconsiderate and even posted negative feedback.  If I am inconsiderate, I should have posted her negative feedback as well as being a joy bidder.  But being "inconsiderate" me (sounding sarcastic), I didn't do that because I know she is not really a joy bidder.  But still I left her feedback though, stating that she never settled payment.  She just suddenly disappeared and no longer replied to my messages.  This maybe made her leave a negative feedback on me.

It's just so sad that she is also a seller yet she didn't understand my other side of the story.  You can never wait for a buyer forever to settle her payment.  In my case, I did wait, and still I am tagged as inconsiderate.  If I no longer receive response from the prospect buyer, shall I just be quiet about it and do nothing?  What if she's already dead and I still waited?  How will I know?

My Sale Finds: Year End Sale

Here I am again, sharing with you my sale finds.  I just thought of looking for something to wear this New Year since they say that it is lucky to welcome the new year with new clothes.  And so I find myself browsing through the stores of Mango and Forever 21.  These are what I have found.

In Forever 21, it seems that all their old stocks are on sale.  I've seen some of the clothes before and they're selling it now at a discounted price.  They have those buy one take one again.  I got to get a good deal from it.  Most of their items on sale are up to 50% off.

I honestly found many interesting items in Forever 21 that is on sale.  I let go of a Kaftan like blouse which is on sale at Php 700+ or Buy One Take One.  I think that's already a great deal because of its very intricate stitching details.  But I didn't bought it as I have not gotten any item to pair it up as Buy One Take One sale.  There are also skirts selling for Php 250 and tank top for less than Php 200.  I also find their sale with sizes mostly medium to large that's why I have quite difficulty in finding my size.  I so love the white top that I bought.  Beige color is also available for that style.  The jumpsuit also have a magenta color available aside from the blue.  The tube dress is I think the only one and only left as I don't see any similar item on the racks.  There's so much clothes to buy but I am holding on so as not to spend that much.

For Mango, they have a few items left on sale.  Some of their racks are already empty.  Although I still find some items last time to be still available this time.  Like the brown pants that I bought.  Almost same design (and color, only darker this one) as last time but the cut is straight.  I thought it won't look good on me but I was wrong.  The cut may be straight but it isn't loose fitting on my legs.  I would like to get the black color instead of the brown since I already have the brown last time but the black got so many lints which I find difficult to remove, even if its fabric is the same as the brown.

Similar to Forever 21, there are still a lot of good finds in Mango.  There are shorts that are on sale but I find it a bit expensive for a shorts.  Most of their prices are Php 900+ and up.  I opt for more fabric for the same price that's why I bought the pants instead.  I love the cowl neck tank top.  I'm almost on the verge of buying both the white color and this olive green color.  I chose the olive green (even if I think I'll have difficulty in pairing it up on any bottom color) because the white seem to be very thin fabric when worn.  I think this blouse is also great for the office.  As for the tube top, I just thought of buying this as there's no similar item left on the racks for this one.  Besides, I like wearing tube top and I don't have any white tube yet.

I believe there are more stores offering year end sale.  So why not visit one while there's still stocks!  If you've done shopping, care to share what you've bought?

My Sale Finds, Again

I remember passing by Mango this week with its exclusive sale.  But I totally forgot it until I pass by there again awhile ago.  Without any hesitations, I entered the store even though I really don't have plans of buying anything.  I just wanted to look if the sale is really cheap.  Well, I guess it does.  I am not able to browse much since I was with my dad.  I didn't want him to wait for me for so long.  But anyway, Below are the (only) clothes I bought after trying out a few pieces.

I always look for jeans or pants at Mango.  It fits me well and I find their style appealing.  I recall the jeans I bought years ago at Php 990 only.  So I'm hoping to see another jeans or pants with the same price.  Unfortunately, most of their jeans already cost more than Php 1,000.  Not so bargain for me, haha! But they have other bottoms which cost about Php 890 to Php 990, though mostly are capri or cropped pants.  I was just in luck to find this chocolate brown pants, which I think is great for office wear.  The style is slim fit.  So slim that it really hugged my legs which I find quite difficult to bend my knees.  But it's ok, I can still move comfortably.  Original price was at Php 1,250.  I bought it at Php 990.  Not bad.

Another item that catches my attention was this simple tank top.  Even though my favorite color is blue, I'm hoping to have a white or red tank top but I couldn't find any, for the same style.  The strap of this tank top is not so thin and the depth in front is same at the back.  For me, it is not really a sale find since its just a tank top.  Original price is Php 595.  I bought it at Php 390.  Still quite expensive.

I might go back at Mango again next week.  Just to check again if there's anything that will catch my attention :)

My Sale Finds

Last week, I pass by Giordano as they have a huge tarpaulin of "SALE" on their window display.  I really didn't expect to buy anything there since I know it will still be a bit expensive even if their items are on sale.  But I was really looking for black pants that I will wear on our company's Christmas party.  Unfortunately, the pants I plan to wear was burned by our maid when she was ironing it.  So I am really in search for black pants.  I already have this style on my mind on what I will be wearing on our Christmas party.  I must really look for black pants.

When I came inside the Giordano store, there was a black jeans available.  I thought maybe this jeans will suffice but I prefer black pants so I could still use it as office wear.  Nevertheless, I tried it on along with a gray pants/jeggings (which doesn't really look like jeggings except for its design on the waist that is similar to jeans).  I tried both on and it fits me well.  I'm having second thoughts of buying both as I am really in search for just pants and not jeans.  But the price is really attractive.  And so I decided to buy them both.  I think its really pretty cheap for a pants considering its an international brand.  Guess how much I paid for each pants?  A very cheap Php 350 pesos!

I'm not sure until when will the sale be at Giordano.  But if you have time, you might just spot a very cheap item such as these.  A really great sale find!

Thanksgiving Sale of SM

I find it funny when SM stores decided to held a Thanksgiving Sale across all their stores and their exclusive brands.  Simply because we, Filipinos, normally don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in the Philippines.  Besides, I know owners of SM are not even Americans (no offense meant to whatever it may imply).  Anyway, it seems like the Thanksgiving Sale of SM worked.  I read a lot about it on Facebook and some blogs.  So I'm sharing mine too.

I don't have plans of buying anything at SM's Thanksgiving Sale.  I just accompanied my sister when she was looking for a nice blouse to wear for an event she'll be attending this Sunday.  We roam around the stores of Glorietta and SM Makati.  Our last stop was Forever 21 in SM Makati.  On both malls, my sister didn't find anything she liked.  Although she has a few choices from Plains and Prints in Glorietta and in Forever 21, but still she didn't buy it.  So it turned out, I was the one who did the shopping mainly in Forever 21.  Here's a picture of what I bought.

Basically all these clothes have a purpose when I decided to buy them.  Let's start with the floral skirts.  I've been seeing these in Forever 21 for the longest time.  Maybe its not so hard selling that's why this time, they made it "2 for Php 525" promo.  I only need 1 skirt but since its on super sale, I bought 2.  Original price of each skirt is Php 405.  So I save about 60%.  I have an event to attend to that requires a business attire outfit.  I don't want to look too business like and so I thought this floral skirt will work.  I just need to pair it with a nice plain top and a blazer maybe.

On our group's Christmas Party, the theme is metallic and it will be held in a bar.  So the outfit should somehow be clubbing type.  I only have 2 clothes that is somewhat metallic in my closet but I am not convinced to wear them on that party.  Thus, I bought the orange racer back top with silver metallic hints.  There's only 2 colors available, orange and yellow.  I chose the orange one since the yellow seems untidy looking (no offense to those who bought the yellow one).  Then I further browse through more racks and found the Buy 1 Take 1 promo.  I found the printed orange skirt with belt.  I checked out other clothes to grab that Buy 1 Take 1 opportunity but unfortunately, there are no longer nice clothes that catches my attention and that will fit my size.  So I just got the orange skirt at 50% off.  Original price was Php 915.

I'm happy with my purchases even if it's not on my budget list.  And somehow, I still get to wear these even after the events that I'll be attending.  And of course, I spent only about Php 300+ for each item.  Cheap isn't it?        

The Ups and Downs of Being an Online Seller

I've been an online seller for several years already, selling pre-loved items, Victoria's Secret products, US clothing, etc.  Mostly I'm selling at multiply and ebay.  For all these years, I've experienced a lot as a seller.  Below are just the Ups and Downs I've experienced as an online seller.  I'll start with the positive side.

Understanding seller
Personally, I know I'm an understanding person.  I understand everyone's need, preference and situation.  As a seller, there are buyers who pays late.  When they inform me of those delay payments, I understand their situation.  I don't give them specific date to settle payment after they inform me of the delay.  They're the one's who give date of payment.  It is sometimes a good feeling when your buyers sent you feedback that you're understanding.

Accommodating seller
There are also buyers who prefer other mode of payments other than what I've specified.  If it's not hassle on my part, then I gave it to their preference.  And of course, just like any buying-selling scheme, you will expect buyers to haggle.  I accept haggling as long as it is reasonable.  If the items they're trying to haggle are those pre-loved items, I often gave in as it is already a used item.  Besides, most of the items I'm selling have a very little capital so there's no really big loss on my part.

From Buyer to Acquaintance to Friendship
Since I've build up my reputation as a seller, I have some repeat customers.  Some of which have eventually become my friends.  When a certain customer is also a buyer, we exchange items or swap whatever items available on our shop.  Selling online is also a way of widening your network.

Extra income
Of course one major benefit in selling online is getting an extra income out of it, most especially if it's just a sideline job, similar to my store.  I sell items whatever I feel like to.  My siblings sometimes uses my account for them to sell their merchandise.  For pre-loved items, there are people who really believes in the saying, there is gold in other people's trash.  Well, I hope they find gold in some of my items.

The DOWN's
Joy bidder / Bogus buyers
As a seller, you really can't get away from those bogus buyers and joy bidders.  In my case, most of my experience were joy bidders.  Well, they're not really joy bidders but most of the time they still contact me just to say they will no longer be getting the item.  The most common reason I heard from these joy bidders are they got hospitalized or they have been sick for the longest time.  Out of pity, of course you will no longer force him/her to pay you.  I think its much better to just be honest and say that they don't have money.  But then again, why bid if you don't have money, right?  Whatever their reason are, whether true or not, I just let karma take its course.

Too long reservation
In addition to not paying after bidding, it is also frustrating when a buyer reserves the item for the longest time then later on decided not to get it where in fact there is another buyer interested with your item but you can't give it out due to prior reservation made.  By the time the reservation was lifted, the second buyer is no longer interested with your item.  It is like a double whammy.  You are at lost in both situations.

Increasing clutter
My room is already full of unsold items.  This is most especially when my siblings decided to sell their stuff through my online shop.  They stock their items in my room!  Since I am also busy at work, I don't have that luxury of time to immediately post their items online.  That is when my room gets cluttered.

Patience is a virtue
As a seller, you will encounter different types of people.  Whatever their needs are, concerns, inquiries, etc.  you have to be patient with it.  Once they find you unaccommodating or unfriendly, it turns them off and you lose a potential buyer.  I should know as I am also a buyer myself.  When you accommodate a customer's request, that's when you experience abusive customers.  This is where your patience is tested.  That is why you should not be stubborn and learn to lengthen your patience.

Don't get me wrong.  There maybe downside in selling but I still enjoy it.  There were some who compliments me that I am a good seller (but my line of work isn't in sales, it's the other way around).  Besides, whenever I'm selling online, I also get to "window" shop online.  That's multi-tasking!   There maybe other ups and downs on being an online seller.  Do you have one to share?

My Great Find!

Due to my new year's resolution of more savings than spendings, I didn't go much shopping yesterday even if there's so much sale! There's up to 70% off sale in Mango, 50% off in Cinderella, The Ramp Crossings, CMG, Tomato and many more.

But I'm in search for a formal dress which I will use to some wedding parties that I'll be attending in the coming weeks.  So I pass by The Ramp Crossings.  I browsed through the dresses from Details.  There were racks that indicates "50% off" and "Php 500 only".  I spotted two black elegant dresses under the Php 500 rack so I tried them on.  The first one was a long, maxi black dress with cowl neck line, spaghetti strap and low back.  It was really nice and sophisticated looking.  Another one was a knee length tube dress with peplum style skirt.  Again, its sophisticated looking.  I was only able to take a picture of the second one (see below).

Both dresses are quite big for me with US size 6 (I'm only size 2!).  But the second one can be altered much easier than the 1st one.  So I bought the second one, knee length dress.  For just Php 500, I got a very elegant, sophisticated formal dress! Really good find and great deal!  It doesn't even looked like its worth only Php 500!  Now I'm search for shoes... haha!
